It all depends on which side of the sales slip you are on! When salespeople were asked why they felt customers stopped buying in their stores, one survey discovered that most sales clerks put the blame on perceived high prices.

But when the customers themselves were surveyed to find out why they changed stores, only 8% of these "fickle" shoppers cited price as the big reason customers walked.

68% of former customers said they had been treated indifferently by the salespeople.
